Holly Madison is sticking by her decision to name her new baby girl Rainbow Aurora.
The reality star, who gave birth to her first child with her party promoter boyfriend Pasquale Rotella on Tuesday, took to her blog over the weekend to explain the moniker and defend it from critics. She wrote that she went to school with a girl named Rainbow and was "so envious" of the name growing up.

"She was a perfectly normal, well-adjusted, sporty girl, by the way, so I?m not worried about my daughter being 'traumatized' by having an unusual name," she wrote.
Madison also acknowledged that she's heard a lot of criticism from "smug haters" over her choice of a name but added that she doesn't care what anyone else thinks about it.
"I want my daughter to be proud of who she is and learn to speak up and stand up for herself at a young age," Madison wrote. "I spent most of my life being a people-pleaser who worried about what other people thought or thought was cool and I don?t want that for her."
She also showed off a new multihued manicure in honor of her daughter's name.

Madison moved into the Playboy mansion in 2004, and was one of Playboy mogul Hugh Hefner?s live-in girlfriends. She was one of three women featured on the E! reality show "Girls Next Door." She announced her breakup from Hefner in 2008.
After leaving the Playboy mansion and "Girls Next Door," Madison starred in the topless burlesque show "Peepshow" in Las Vegas and got her own show, "Holly?s World," which ran for two seasons.
