It?s more than just alliteration; it?s a statement, a proclamation that Thursdays are when the weekend should really start. Kicking it off right is the key, and what better way than with a cocktail that not only takes the edge off, but tastes good too. A hard thing to disagree with, we know. Drink up, get down and go to sleep happy.

The origins of this drink may be less than respectable (think frat boys with ulterior motives), but that doesn?t mean this beer punch should be confined to the red solo cup. While traditionally made with bottom-of-the barrel-ingredients like cheap beer, powdered lemonade and whatever liquor is on hand, the Hop, Skip and Go Naked can now be redefined as a summery poolside (or grill-side) cocktail.

For a tastier version of your college days, combine fresh lemon juice, sweet grenadine and the spirit of your choice in a beer glass with lots of ice. Top with a good-quality lager for a refreshing, bubbly beverage.

Be warned: this cocktail has a reputation. Think of it as the risqu? relative of the Shandy.

Hop, Skip and Go Naked

Ingredients:

• 1?oz?vodka, gin or?whiskey
• 3/4?oz?lemon juice
• 3/4?oz?grenadine?or?raspberry?syrup
• 6-8 oz of lager beer
• Ice

Directions:
Combine everything but the beer into a shaker tin, and shake vigorously. Pour into?beer?glass full of ice, top with?lager?beer,?garnish?with a lemon wedge and enjoy!
