Hair Battle Show "Welcome to the Dollhouse" Pays Tribute to Breast Cancer

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and people across our area are paying tribute to this disease in their own special way.

Celebrity hair and make-up stylist, Antowan Fleeton hosted the River Region's first ever hair battle show entitled "Welcome to the Dollhouse".

Hair stylists and barbers from around the state competed for the number one spot of being known as the best hair stylist/designer in the state and win a cash prize of $1,000.

It was more than just style and fame at this event, all participants paid tribute to breast cancer awareness.

"To give people the motivation and to make them feel good about themselves,." Fleeton said. "Just to give them a platform to make them feel like somebody, to feel and showcase their work, just to be excited about the industry period and enjoy what they're doing."

Ten customized wigs were donated to the Women of Hope Foundation. Local breast cancer survivors and speakers were also part of the tribute.
