Director of Finance and Operations ? Center School Center School, an independent day school for bright students with dyslexia and other language-based learning differences, enrolls approximately 75 students in grades 1-8. The school offers a specialized program in reading while providing a strong foundation in all areas of the curriculum.? The Director of Finance and Operations provides strategic leadership, analysis, and management of the school?s finances, establishing and implementing financial and capital strategies that ensure the long-term health of the school. Reports to Head of School. Liaison with Finance Committee and Buildings and Grounds Committee of the Board.? Separate and direct accountability to the Board of Trustees. ? Responsibilities: - Create, administer, report, and monitor the school?s financial plan, operating and capital budgets, investment policies, funds management and other financial matters as needed to achieve the school?s mission.
- Build and manage an effective and streamlined administrative/financial system.
- All business office functions including budgeting and accounting, analysis, salary and payroll, contracts, student billing, human resource policies and training, benefit programs including medical and 403B administration.
- Plan and execute risk management strategies, maintain appropriate corporate insurance policies, and interface with legal counsel.
- Daily cash management.
- Monitor and maintain a system of internal controls over school assets.
- Direct and administer Financial Aid Program in coordination with the Head of School and the Admissions Director.
- Coordinate all audit activities.? Prepare regular financial reports for the Board of Trustees.
- Reporting in compliance with the State of Pennsylvania and other regulatory standards and requirements, as well as external legal activities of the school.
- Manage the staff, operations, vendor and purchasing programs, projects, emergency planning and budgets of the facility, transportation, technology services and communications.?
- Manage all rentals.
- Interact with the community in ways that will support the outreach of the school and support its mission.
